A man in his 30s has been arrested by police for forging and selling concert tickets for globally renowned K-pop group BLACKPINK.
The Dongjak Police Station in Seoul announced on June 18 that they had urgently apprehended a man, identified as Mr. A, on charges including fraud.
Mr. A is suspected of attempting to sell counterfeit BLACKPINK concert tickets at a café in Dongjak-gu, Seoul, around 9:20 p.m. on the previous evening (June 17). Acting on a report, police conducted a stakeout at the location and arrested him on the spot.
Authorities reportedly discovered spelling errors and other signs of tampering on the tickets he possessed. Upon verification with the official ticketing platform, they confirmed the tickets were forged.
Investigations revealed that Mr. A had sold approximately 500 counterfeit tickets through a secondhand trading platform, earning around 80 million KRW (approx. 58,000 USD).
Police are currently investigating the full extent of the crime, including any additional offenses committed by the suspect.
